- this has been done years ago. in fact there is a 3d smooth movement game
- for the apple 2 and atari 8 bit ("Eidolon", done by Lucasfilm Games) made
- in 1985. Even before that there was "way out" in 1981 by Sirius software
- (programmed by Paul Edelstein, wasn't he the guy that did Descent?)...
